James Montgomery Band
James Montgomery Band
When James Montgomery played Nashville as a member of the Johnny Winter Band, the Nashville Tennessean wrote “If ever the time came to use two “legendary” tags in one story, it is to describe both Winter and Montgomery. They are Blues Masters of the first and highest degree.”

Harmonica ace, James Montgomery, earned that “legendary” tag through a stellar career that spans five decades beginning in Detroit where he learned first hand from the likes of John Lee Hooker, James Cotton, Buddy Guy and Jr. Wells all of whom became life-long friends.

Over the years Montgomery has toured with virtually every major artist including Bruce Springsteen, The Allman Brothers, Steve Miller, Aerosmith, Bonnie Raitt, B.B. King, and many others. He was also a member of the Johnny Winter Band for 6 years, a Lost Planet Airman with Commander Cody, and did a brief stint as a Blues Brother with Dan Aykroyd and Jim Belushi.

Montgomery has recorded with James Cotton, Joey Kramer and Brad Whitford from Aerosmith, rapper DMC, Jimmy Vivino, Kid Rock, Uncle Kracker (he earned a Platinum Record for his efforts on this one), Johnny Winter, Paul Nelson, Grace Kelly, The Uptown Horns, Mark Naftalin, and many more.

He has been nominated for a Blues Music Award (A Handy) and a Grammy for his work with Johnny Winter. He was also featured in a film with Morgan Freeman and Willie Nelson, and for 5 years was the host of a syndicated radio show, Backstage With the Blues, interviewing bonnie Raitt, Gregg Allman, Keb, Mo, John Lee Hooker, Honeyboy Edwards and literally a hundred others.

Montgomery has also done extensive charity work especially for Veterans (since 1972) and for organizations that provide health care for blues musicians one of which he was Founding Director, and another of which he still remains President
He is currently promoting a CD dedicated to Paul Butterfield, one of his boyhood idols who became a friend, that garnered airplay on over 120 stations worldwide.
Christine Ohlman
Christine Ohlman (a/k/a "The Beehive Queen" for her mile-high platinum-blonde hairdo) is the current, long-time vocalist with NBC's Saturday Night Live Band whose sixth critically-acclaimed CD with Christine Ohlman & Rebel Montez, "The Deep End," was honored on numerous national end-of-year Top Ten lists.
For June 29th’s “Blues Super Session” she will join James Montgomery, The James Montgomery Band, The Uptown Horns, and Cliff Goodwin (Joe Cocker, Robert Palmer, and Christine Ohlman & Rebel Montez) in an extraordinary night of rock n’ soul, blues-style.

Even as she travels the world, Ohlman hearkens to her deep roots in the New Haven scene. She has been named a “Living Legend” by both the New Haven and Hartford Advocates. In 2017 she was inducted into the National Blues Hall of Fame of American Heritage, International. She landed the Top Female Americana Vocalist honors on The Alternate Root's International Readers' Poll (she shares top slots with Paul Thorn, The Mavericks, and Rodney Crowell) and is fresh from appearances onstage in NYC with Bonnie Raitt and Keb Mo; at the Paris Conservatory with The Sessions Panel; "The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon;” the SNL 40th Anniversary broadcast and Post-Broadcast concert at the Plaza Hotel (where Fallon and The B-52s sang backup for her); multiple appearances on the soundtrack for the HBO series “Vinyl,” including a duet with Elvis Costello; the Carnegie Hall Tribute To The Rolling Stones; the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame Induction Concert in Cleveland (HBO) and The WC Handy Festival in Muscle Shoals, where she’s been the special guest of the Blind Boys Of Alabama and led an All-Star Shoals tributes that included Bonnie Bramlett, Candi Staton, and Ed King of Lynyrd Skynyrd. Her numerous studio and live collaborations encompass Grammy-nominated recordings and include duets with Mac Rebennack (Dr. John), Dion, Ian Hunter, Marshall Crenshaw, and Charlie Musselwhite, plus appearances with Al Green, Steve Miller, Smokey Robinson, Bruce Springsteen, and the late George Harrison. With JoJo Hermann of Widespread Panic, she leads the “Down On The Bayou” New Orleans Jazz and Heritage benefits for the New Orleans Musicians Clinic. She guests on Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and legendary Rolling Stones producer Andrew Loog Oldham's "The ALO Orchestra Sings The Rolling Stones Songbook Vol. 2,” named “Coolest Record Of The Year” by SIRIUS/XM’s "Little Steven’s Underground Garage."

Ohlman is a noted musicologist and record collector who was one of the original contributing editors to the All Music Guide. Mixing a fiery brand of rootsy Americana with an old-school soul music flavor, she serves up a style that's been dubbed by SIRIUS/XM's Dave Marsh "Contemporary Rock R&B." For her live shows, Ohlman will bring to the musical table songs from her six CDs plus 2018’s upcoming “The Grown-Up Thing.” "I've come here to set your souls on fire," she tells her audiences. And she will.
Tom “The Suit” Forst Band
2018 Blues Hall Of Fame Recipient...

Eight years ago, Tom was a corporate Vice President of Cox Communications Group, who quit it all to pursue a full time music career. He had just paid the last college tuition bill for his four children, and that was the day Thomas Forst put the pedal to the metal on a life-long dream.

Since then Tom has gained acclaim as a guitarist, vocalist and songwriter - performing and recording with well known musicians from The Johnny Winter Band, Saturday Night Live, Allman Brothers Band, Paul Nelson Band, Stephen Colbert Show Band, Popa Chubby and Grammy winning musicians & producers. As a performer he has opened for: Hoobastank, Slam Allen, Christine Ohlman, Marshall Tucker Band, Lucas Nelson (Willie's son!), Atlanta Rhythm Section, 3 Dog Night, Gideon Luke, Grand Funk!

Now in 2017, Tom The Suit Forst has released his solo album, "On Fire," presented by Norwalk, Ct-based Factory Underground Records. Produced by Grammy-winner Paul Nelson, guitarist to Johnny Winter, the blues-based rock album is comprised of eight highly personal originals and three classic covers.

And the question of how one Thomas Forst became known to the world as Tom The Suit Forst: "It was one of my first gigs, guesting with my son's punk rock group. They called me up, I was still wearing a business suit in those days. As I walked out and starting playing, the crowd was chanting "SUIT SUIT SUIT!!!"

The Legend of THE SUIT was born.
